I am passionate about caring for animals as I have a certificate in animal care. I studied at UNITEC in Auckland and made a lovely friend, and have had hands-on experience at a Kennels and Cattery. In the near future I would like to continue further with studying animals to become a qualified Vet nurse or Veterinarian.
I own a Rottweiler dog that goes by the name of Jonah and he is 3 years old. I got him as a puppy at 6 weeks old. I have a strong interest in science and biology. Human biology fascinates me, it's amazing how the body works. I enjoy watching science fiction T.V shows like doctor who and merlin. I also enjoy watching movies like harry potter, the hobbit and pirates of the caribbean. I have a loving, supportive partner who is a qualified forklift slip-sheet operator and he brings in the dollars for our little family. We own our own home, mortgage free in a small farm style town and we are raising our baby girl who was born on 17.10.13. It was our 8th year of being together on Dec 14th 2013, we are not married but will be in the near future.
My blogs i have started is a place for me to speak out openly about my life, my thoughts, day-to-day things and how it is being a first time mum of a beautiful alert baby girl. I exclusively breastfeed my daughter and I'm happy I am able to do so. My daughter is wearing cloth nappies as I know in the end it will save me money once I have a decent stash and the accessories needed. I am very close to having enough to get properly started. I still use disposables at night for now yet I plan to ditch disposable as soon as possible. Thanks to Facebook Mummy groups I have been able to buy cloth nappies from other mums. I wouldn't have had them if it wasn't for them selling me them. Cloth nappies are so addictive to buy so be careful not to spend to much if you decided to do cloth nappies. Be sure to learn how to wash cloth nappies to, trust me on that. My girl ended up with rash from it. Change nappy regularly too. I take photos of my daughter almost everyday just simply because I can, She so adorable. My daughter is now 4 months old and she is now pretty much a pro at getting a great latch
when breastfeeding. She hate the normal bottle she prefers the sippy cup. At the moment she is exploring with grasping grabbing and chewing anythng she can get her hands on. My house is full of smiles, squeals and the sound of toys rattling. My dog just love my girl he lick her thinking she is a puppy, so cute. She reaches out to pat when Jonah is near all the time. From time to time me and my daughter go to the parent hub meetings here and catch up with the ladies and their babies plus for some advice and just time out of house. I also enjoy daily walks with my dog beside the pram on his lead. I put a harness on him because being a huge 50 kg Rottweiler he can get excited to pee on a post or sees a cat so it helps stop him from tipping me and the pram over. Jonah doesn't pull on the lead, he a great walker but I like to safe just in case. So my life as being a new mummy has been a roller coaster as breastfeeding was a challenge but i got through it and I have adjusted to my new life and i love it and it totally worth. I'm glad i got pregnant at 21, it's a good age for me.
Some parts of me wished I didn't get pregnant because I wanted to graduate in vet nursing. I want to be a veterinarian one day it's my dream but i have put it on hold so I can give my baby the full attention she needs and plus I plan to exclusively breastfeed for a whole year. It seems so long but I want her to have the best start she can I'll even go longer if she lets me. Once she is at school thats when I want to start studying again. I'd be 26 by then but that is okay it still close to my goal of having a career before I'm 30. I'm an ambitious person so i like to get things done no matter how long it takes. I've made long term goals and a lot of them have come true and ticked off my list. Now that I have a daughter a lot of that has changed as I am putting her first though I'm still looking after myself and partner too of course. The house isn't as tidy as it use to be but it is good enough and clean enough for us to get on with life as parents. I'm grateful for what i have and couldn't ask for anything more.
Being a mum rocks, its hard but rewarding!!
